Tire Repairs

Do you have a slow air leak in one of your tires? Did you end up with a flat tire? The ASE-certified technicians at BRAKEmax Tire & Service Centers can take care of your tire repair and get you back on the road quickly and safely. Our tire experts always follow the Rubber Manufacturers Association (RMA) guidelines for safe and effective tire repairs.

Tire Rotation

One of the easiest ways to extend the life of your tires and ensure your vehicle is running efficiently is to have your tires rotated regularly. Tires with uneven wear or too much wear can make your vehicle less stable and less fuel-efficient.

We recommend your new tires be rotated at 5,000 miles. After that, you should have your tires rotated on a regular schedule, such as each time you come in for an oil change. It may need to be sooner if you put especially high miles on your vehicle.

Tire Balancing

Without properly balanced tires, your vehicle may vibrate or experience other performance issues. Your tires’ tread will also wear faster. So, making sure the weight of each tire/wheel assembly is equally distributed helps ensure optimal performance of your tires. We provide expert tire balancing service and can help you maximize your tires’ performance.

Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) Service

Underinflated tires are the leading cause of blowouts or tire failure. Our ASE-certified technicians can perform tire pressure checks and ensure your TPMS is working properly, helping to keep your tires safe on the road. Your TPMS will normally alert you to any tire pressure issues that need to be addressed.

How Frequently Do I Need To Have My Tires Rotated?

Rotating your tires is one of the most cost-effective ways to keep them in good condition. Tires wear differently on each wheel, so moving the tires from one wheel to another on a regular basis will even that wear out as much as possible. Uneven tread wear on your tires can lead to a range of problems, such as the car pulling to one side or excessive vibration. Rotating your tires can help head off these issues.

There are some exceptions to rotation rules. Trucks, for example, may have different tires on the front and back, so rotation may not be practical. Some vehicles use directional tires which must be rotated in a specific way.

You can check the rotation schedule recommendation from the manufacturer of your tires, or ask the tire specialists at our Catalina tire store to advise you on the best rotation schedule for your vehicles.

Is Balancing Tires The Same As Rotating Them?

Although we recommend that you have your tires balanced whenever you have them rotated, these tasks are not the same. Balancing ensures that the total weight of your tire and wheel are distributed evenly, while rotating means placing each of your tires in a new position on your car or truck.

Each wheel turns its tire a bit differently, so wheel balancing is important for optimal performance on the road. Balancing prevents uneven tread wear and vibrations, like rotation does, but both services are needed.

What Are The Signs That I Need New Tires?

Inspect your tires regularly to spot signs of damage, such as:

  • Cracks in tire sidewalls
  • Weak spots like blisters or bulges
  • Objects embedded in the tires

You can assess tread wear by looking at the wear bars (strips of rubber inserted in the tread grooves by the manufacturer) become visible when the tread wears down enough to see it. In addition, the depth of the tread can be gauged by placing a penny in the tread groove with Lincoln’s head down. It’s time for new tires if the top of Lincoln’s head is visible.
